An EU representative was killed Tuesday in a rocket attack on the town of Darayya outside Damascus, BBC reported.
The British news agency quoted EU foreign policy chief as saying that Ahmad Shihadeh, an EU policy officer, “lived in the area and was killed while providing humanitarian help to the community.”
“[Shihadeh] died while providing humanitarian help to the community of Darayya. Ahmad was known for his courage and selflessness,” Ashton said in a statement.
However, she did not say “who the EU believed was responsible for the attack.”
BBC reported that Syrian activists said the EU office was killed in a rocket attack on the Damascus district town late Tuesday.
