Baroud promises traffic law enforcement

Interior Minister Ziad Baroud told the Voice of Lebanon radio station on Monday that “from now on any person who does not abide the law will be punished,” adding that the number of traffic police increased from 500 to 1757.

French traffic safety experts gave training sessions to Lebanese traffic police, “which included teaching them how to deal with citizens,” said Baroud.

He added that “new police uniforms will be distributed to the force to make its members look more like citizens.”
