BEIRUT - Unknown assailants threw a hand grenade at a Lebanese army outpost in Al-Gharbaa in the northern city of Tripoli on Wednesday evening, an army statement said.

 

“Two people riding a motorbike threw a hand grenade at an army outpost in Tripoli’s Al-Gharbaa. The soldiers at the scene opened fire in the direction of the assailants,” the statement said.

 

It added that one of the perpetrators was injured, while the other escaped unscathed.

 

“The injured suspect was admitted into a nearby hospital for treatment. The military police have launched an investigation into the incident,” it added.
