UNIFIL spokesperson Neeraj Singh issued a statement that on Friday at 11:40 a.m. two Israeli tanks crossed the Israeli security fence two kilometers from the Al-Ghajar village, where they remained until 1 p.m.
However, the Israelis did not cross the Blue Line, he added.
UNIFIL forces as well as the Lebanese army were present to monitor the area and ensure the Israelis did not breach the Blue Line, Singh also said.
This follows conflicting reports from earlier in the day over whether Israeli tanks crossed the Blue Line. Some media outlets said the Israelis deployed to Lebanese territory in the southern village of Talet al-Wazzani, whereas others reported that Tel Aviv only increased its border presence.
