Al-Arabiya television reported on Saturday that Syrian security forces killed “six civilians across the country.”
“The Syrian [army’s] warplanes flew over [the towns of] Houla and Rastan in [the] Homs [district] to terrify the residents,” activists told the TV station.
The report added that the army deployed in Banyas and raided Tal Kalakh and regions of Deir az-Zour.
The station also reported that several protests broke out in the country, adding that “thousands participated in the funeral of martyrs of Arabin, near Damascus.”
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s troops have cracked down on protests against almost five decades of Baath Party rule which broke out mid-March, killing over 2,200 people and triggering a torrent of international condemnation.
