President Michel Sleiman on Wednesday praised the excellent ties that Lebanon enjoys with Romania at the end of his official visit to the country, reported the National News Agency.
“The close ties that we have with Romania deserve all the efforts made to consolidate them,” the report quoted Sleiman as saying.
Sleiman called for further consolidating these ties through closer diplomatic relations and through “the hardworking and entrepreneurial Lebanese community in Romania that has proven its loyalty and support to the country.”
Before leaving to the Czech Republic, Sleiman concluded his visit to Romania by attending a business conference organized by the Romanian Chamber of Commerce where he underlined the ability of Lebanon to “withstand financial, political, security and social challenges.”
“The visit was important” and “it lays the foundations for future cooperation between the two countries,” Sleiman told journalists in Romania.
Sleiman, accompanied by a delegation, arrived in Romania on Monday.
