The National News Agency (NNA) reported on Friday that a march in support of the Syrian people took place in Al-Qoba in North Lebanon’s Tripoli after Muslim prayers.
The report said statements were issued during the march calling for supporting the Syrian people.
Since mid-March 2011, Syria has witnessed a deadly revolt against the regime of President Bashar al-Assad. The Syrian Observatory puts the death toll at more than 11,100, while the UN says more than 9,000 have been killed.
Lebanon’s political scene is split between supporters of Assad’s regime, led by Hezbollah, and the pro-Western March 14 camp.
