The Lebanese Armed Forces conducted a raid in Beirut’s Southern Suburb in connection with the rockets that had been fired on the predominantly Shiite area of the capital.

According to a video report by LBC television, LAF personnel raided a TV repair shop thought to be owned by a suspect, identified as Ahmad Taha – a Palestinian national.

The report also said that the army confiscated documents, cameras and CDs from the shop and also raided an apartment in the area that Taha had allegedly occupied.

Two rockets were fired on May 26 into the Shiyyah area of Dahiyeh, the morning after Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah promised his party’s supporters that the Shiite movement would emerge victorious in Syria.

The army raid came two days after a car bomb ripped through the Dahiyeh area of Al-Roueiss killing at least 22 people and injuring hundreds.
