March 14 MP Marwan Hamadeh commented on Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblatt’s statement regarding Hezbollah’s arms.
“I assure [Jumblatt] that March 14 is ready to hold dialogue regarding Hezbollah’s arms [on condition] that it will be productive and successful,” Hamadeh told the Voice of Lebanon (100.5) radio station.
Jumblatt said in an interview published on Friday that the “major disagreement” between him and March 14 was that the latter did not want to negotiate “the issue of [non-state] arms.”
Hamadeh also said that the upcoming parliamentary elections will not be held amid the presence of Prime Minister Najib Mikati’s cabinet.
“We will not accept that [this] cabinet supervises the 2013 parliamentary elections. We want a neutral, technocratic cabinet [to be formed],” he added.
