US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Jeffrey Feltman said on Tuesday that Hezbollah will never stop fighting Israel, As-Safir newspaper reported.
He added that the US is working on weakening Hezbollah’s power by targeting the financial support it receives from all over the world, possibly referring to Iran.
This comes after the UN Security Council issued Resolution 1929, which imposed a fourth round of sanctions on Tehran over its suspect nuclear drive. Although Iran, Brazil and Turkey reached an agreement over a nuclear swap deal to send Tehran’s uranium abroad for further enrichment.
“Hezbollah is a serious threat to the US, Lebanon and Israel,” said Feltman, adding, “We attempt to resolve this diplomatically.”
