Syrian President Bashar al-Assad issued a decree on Thursday raising the wages of state employees, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported.
The decision will go into effect as of April 1, the statement added.
SANA quoted Syrian Finance Minister Mohammad al-Hussein as saying that pay increase applies to local employees in Syrian embassies as well as missions in foreign countries.
Assad on Wednesday blamed conspirators for deadly unrest in Syria but failed to lift emergency rule or offer other concessions in his first speech since protests demanding greater freedoms erupted earlier this month.
