Salam to travel to Qatar to
discuss kidnapped soldiers’ case

BEIRUT - Prime Minister Tammam Salam said that he was heading to Qatar on Sunday to address the issue of soldiers kidnapped by Islamist militants in the mountains of Arsal, and to voice gratitude to Qatar for offering aid to Lebanon.

In remarks published by An-Nahar newspaper on Saturday, the premier also denied that General Security chief General Abbas Ibrahim was in Qatar to discuss the kidnapped soldiers’ issue, adding that Ibrahim would accompany him to Qatar along with Interior Minister Nohad Mashnouq.

Salam also told the paper that the international and regional countries’ help for Lebanon was not only moral but also financial.

He also said he would visit later on the US, UAE, Egypt and other Arab countries.
