Amal Movement postpones
conference for security reasons

BEIRUT - The Amal Movement decided to postpone its first National Conference for Mukhtars for security reasons.  

 

“Based on official security information, and after contacting Interior Minister [Nohad Mashnouq] and the security forces, the Amal Movement decided to postpone its first National Conference for Mukhtars, that was scheduled for Friday morning at the UNESCO building in Beirut,” a statement issued by the Amal Movement read.

 

Amal Movement leader Nabih Berri was scheduled to hold a speech during the meeting.

 

However, the statement did not elaborate any further on the decision to cancel.
