Security forces arrest alleged
Al-Nusra Front members in Beqaa

BEIRUT - Lebanese security forces arrested three alleged Al-Nusra Front members on the international highway in the Beqaa Valley, the National News Agency reported Thursday.

 

Syrian nationals Mustafa al-Safarji, Ziad Khairallah al-Melhem and Bassam Ahmad Hamsho had crossed into the Beqaa town of Arsal through Qalamoun, the report added.

 

The security forces turned them over to the Niha police station in Zahle, where they are being investigated.

 

The police found pictures of the men holding Al-Nusra Front flags on their phones.

 

Safarji was found with two cell phones, four international SIM cards and five memory cards, the report added.

 

The military prosecutor has ordered their transfer to the military police in Beqaa’s Ablah.
