FSA denies role in Beirut blast

Free Syrian Army spokesperson Louay Almokdad said that Syrian rebels were not behind the deadly explosion that targeted a busy neighborhood in Beirut’s Dahiyeh on Thursday.

“We have nothing to do with these incidents, since they are far removed from the principles and values of the rebels and the Syrian revolution,” Almokdad said in remarks published by An-Nahar newspaper's website on Friday.

He, however, added that Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and the Syrian regime “are morally responsible for these acts, due to the incitement caused by the criminal acts in Syria.”

A car bomb late Thursday afternoon went off on the main road between the Al-Roueiss and Bir al-Abed areas of Beirut's Hezbollah-stronghold of Dahiyeh, leaving more than a dozen people dead and at least 200 injured.

We have nothing to do with these incidents, since they are far removed from the principles and values of the rebels and the Syrian revolution.
