in Beirut’s Dahiyeh

The Lebanese Armed Forces dismantled a bomb found in a Grand Cherokee Jeep parked in Beirut’s Dahiyeh, the National News Agency reported on Monday.

“This afternoon, after becoming suspicious about a Grand Cherokee Jeep parked in Dahiyeh’s Al-Maamoura neighborhood, the LAF cordoned off the area and a number of specialized military experts revealed after inspecting the vehicle that it contains explosive substances,” the LAF said in a statement.

The statement added that “work is underway to dismantle the bomb and transport the vehicle to a safe area.”
