Who is Jackie Chamoun?

Jackie Chamoun

Jackie was born in the Shouf town of Deir al-Qamar in 1991. She is a professional Alpine Skier, who began skiing at the age of three in Lebanon’s Faraya.


At the age of 14 she began participating in professional skiing events all around the world. She participated in two World Ski Championships: Val D'Isere 2009 and Schladming 2013. 

At the age of 18, Jackie represented her country in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, and is currently participating in the Olympic games in Russia’s Sochi.

Jackie’s dream is to increase the popularity of skiing in Lebanon and promote sports in the country.

    So proud of you Jackie. You have done more for Lebanese athletics than that scumbag ever has. Instead of supporting you in the village, he pushed you into a position where you felt you had to write a demoralizing apology that you absolutely did not need to make. Instead of making sure your name was in the media for you hard work, he dragged Lebanon's name in the mud in the international press by making us to be backward inbreeds who call special meetings to investigate our athletes private lives. Ya 3aybelshoom. What a disgrace and what a shame these games have been on Lebanon.
